Putin's scenario for G20 summit fails - political scientist Taran
Political scientist Serhiy Taran believes that Putin wanted to divide the world into the evil West and countries whose economies Russia is trying to lead
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
"Putin's scenario for this summit was different, all his previous speeches had one thesis that the world is divided into the evil collective West, which exploits a number of countries, and the rest of the economies, which Russia should lead and change the rules in world politics. This scenario promoted by Putin in recent years, has already failed, regardless of what resolutions submitted or blocked by Lavrov will be adopted or not," the political scientist commented.
Serhiy Taran noted that the key thing at the G20 summit took place without Putin at all, and the main attention was focused on the meeting between Biden and Xi Jinping, where Russia could only be discussed in the context of what measures the world should take against the Russian nuclear threat.
"Lavrov's attempts to change something in some resolutions have no meaning. The world sees that Russian interests are not needed, and what Russia says is not taken into account by the world community. The West and the rest of the economies are now working only to return the rules to the world, predictability and civilization, which Russia is now trying to take away. If there are any discussions between the countries of the West, then it is about whether to apply tough measures to Russia or to give someone there a chance," Taran concluded.
