Putin plans to launch offensive on two or three directions, may attack Kyiv again - Polish PM Morawiecki
Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to prove to his people that he is a long-term player who never gives up and will therefore attack Kyiv again
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated this.
“According to all the information I have from Ukraine, I know that there will be another Russian offensive, probably in March or April, and it will be a very tough offensive,” he said.
According to Morawiecki, Putin wants to show his people once again that he is a long-term player who never gives up, and he will attack Kyiv again. The prime minister added that the reason for the spring offensive is that the ground is not suitable for heavy tanks and artillery in winter. Therefore, Putin will probably want to wait until all the mud, swamps, and unprepared ground for the offensive has dried up.
“I think that the plan of Putin and his people, such as Valery Gerasimov, his new Commander-in-Chief of the Russian army, is to surround Ukraine. And in preparing all these plans, he probably thinks that he has to attack from two or three different directions. That's why I think that Ukrainians cannot rule out an attack from the Belarusian northern part of Ukraine, so Kyiv will be surrounded from the west,” the Polish PM said.
He noted that the Kremlin leader “mobilized a lot of new soldiers, about 200,000-250,000.”
“We must not forget that Russia's resources are really big and its pockets are deep. They have a lot of ammunition, a lot of weapons and a lot of people,” the prime minister said.
In addition, Morawiecki emphasized that “an even worse Putin” could take over as head of state in Russia after Putin.
“Of course, I think Putin is a very bad, very bad person, but I also think that this is not the only condition, because there can be another Putin and even a worse Putin, so this is not the only factor,” he emphasized.
