Putin and Shoigu plan to cut down and sell Ukrainian forests - Ukrainian intelligence
The fact that Russia is planning mass cutting of Ukrainian forests is stated in a letter from Russian Minister of Defense Shoigu "On the possibility of cutting down on defense lands," addressed personally to Putin
This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, reports Espresso.West.
The purpose of the document is to obtain permission for the total cutting of Ukrainian "forests, trees, shrubs and green spaces". Cuttings are planned "of any intensity and age, regardless of the form of ownership and category of land with the right to use the resulting wood".
At the same time, the letter notes, the timber not used for the needs of the RF Armed Forces will be sold, and the funds received will be used to support the invasion army.
To date, without exception, all forests that have ended up in the temporarily occupied territories are in the zone of the highest risk. The total cutting down of green spaces is another terrible crime of invaders and the creation of ecocide.
The last time something like this happened on the territory of Ukraine was during the Nazi occupation. When the invaders destroyed and took away material and natural values.
