Politico calls Zelenskyy the most influential person in Europe
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy became the most influential person in Europe in 2022 according to the version of the American publication Politico.
Politico writes about it.
The publication notes that European leaders run to Kyiv to be photographed with a solemn-looking 44-year-old in his now iconic olive green T-shirt. Standing next to him is how politicians want to be seen.
Zelenskyy has convinced the rest of Europe that its future is tied to Ukraine’s, a notion few people believed before the Russian invasion in February. His communication skills were vital. His rhetoric clearly indicates the maliciousness of the Russian regime against which he is fighting, dispelling the belief of a large part of Europe - especially Berlin and Paris - that Moscow can be a partner.
The publication included 28 people in the rating of the most influential people in Europe, headed by Zelenskyy: 18 men and 10 women.
Exactly half of the places on Politico's list are occupied by politicians, remaining 14 are occupied by diplomats, economists, educators and climatologists.
The publication compiled the list based on the expert knowledge and insights of its journalists and influential people with whom they communicate.
Mario Draghi topped Politico's rating last year. At that time he was the Prime Minister of Italy.
Putin was also among the nominees but in the "loser" category.
