Poland proposes European countries buy its Krab self-propelled guns for Ukraine
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that he is proposing that Western European countries buy Polish-made Krab howitzers for Ukraine.
This is reported by WNP.pl.
It is noted that Blaschak took part in the fifth meeting of defense ministers of about 40 countries as part of the Advisory Group on Defense of Ukraine at the US Ramstein military base in Germany.
"For my part, I presented a proposal from the Polish arms industry, especially regarding Krab howitzers. This is a proposal addressed to countries, especially Western Europe, which, ordering Krab for Ukraine, can invest their money well," he said.
According to him, this money is needed to increase the production potential of Huta Stalowa Wola and the entire PGZ group.
"Every year it becomes bigger thanks to the orders of Ukraine itself and the orders of the Ministry of National Defense," he added.
It is known that the 155 mm Krab self-propelled gun weighs about 48 tons and can hit targets at a distance of 40 kilometers, firing up to 6 missiles per minute. The tracked chassis is manufactured under a Korean license, and the gun is a modification of British weapons.
Blaschak was asked about the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian front.
"Ukrainian troops have launched a counteroffensive, are moving forward, are recapturing the territory occupied by Russia, but this, frankly speaking, is a long process and requires the support of the free world," he said.
Answering the question about compensating Polish supplies to Ukraine with tanks from Germany, he noted that "we received an unsatisfactory offer, because the Germans offered us up to 20 tanks next year."
"I wrote to my colleague that the minimum number of tanks we are interested in is a battalion, and in the Western European sense it is 44 tanks," Blaszczak said, adding that he had not yet received a response to his letter.
