People from Ireland, UK, New Zealand help buy medical equipment for Ukraine - Iryna Rybinkina
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Smart Medical Aid Foundation has been providing Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical equipment
Iryna Rybinkina said this
in the War and Volunteers program on Espreso TV.
“At first, we covered the most urgent needs,” Iryna Rybinkina, head of the Smart Medical Aid Foundation, said. “When Kyiv was occupied, there were not only military hospitals, but also civilian hospitals that treated the wounded. And even small children's hospitals became centers for saving the military and civilians. Our assistance was directed to any medical facility that was helping. We also took on children who needed to go abroad immediately to continue their treatment. For example, for cancer patients. We focused on traumatized children.”
According to Iryna Rybinkina, the needs of each hospital were considered. And according to these requests, they tried to help.
“In some places, there were monitors and anesthesia stations, and in others, we had to increase the number of operating rooms because the workload had increased. In other words, an operating room needs a table, surgical equipment, and everything for anesthesia. It all worked in a complex. We had to increase the number of beds for intensive care. We managed to do all this with the help of Irish and British aid, and even the New Zealanders brought this equipment,” the woman added.
