Pentagon details weapons included in new USD 675 million aid package for Ukraine
The US Department of Defense has disclosed the details of military aid to Ukraine worth USD 675 million, which will go to critical needs in the field of security and defense.
The corresponding list is in the statement of the Pentagon.
So, the US will provide Ukraine with:
- additional ammunition for HIMARS artillery missile systems;
- four 105-mm howitzers and 36,000 105-mm artillery shells;
- additional HARM high-speed anti-radar missiles;
- 100 HMMWV armored high-mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicles;
- 1.5 million cartridges for small arms;
- more than 5,000 anti-tank systems;
- 1,000 155-mm rounds of remote anti-tank mines (RAAM);
- additional grenade launchers and small arms;
- 50 armored medical vehicles;
- night vision devices and other field equipment.
In addition, the State Department notified Congress of its intent to allocate USD 2 billion in long-term investments in foreign military financing: USD 1 billion to strengthen Ukraine's security and USD 1 billion to Ukraine's 18 regional neighbors.
In total, since January 2021, the US has allocated more than USD 15.2 billion in security assistance to Ukraine. Since 2014, the US has provided more than USD 17.2 billion in security assistance to Ukraine and more than USD 14.5 billion since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
