PACE prepares resolution to recognize Putin as dictator
PACE parliamentarians have prepared a resolution officially recognizing Russian leader Putin as a dictator and the Russian regime as a dictatorship
This was reported by Tetiana Vysotskaya, a correspondent for the Espreso TV channel.
Today, the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Europe has started in Strasbourg, France. The correspondent noted that she had already seen a draft resolution that will be put to a vote on Wednesday evening, and if everything goes well and "no insidious amendments are voted for", Putin will be officially recognized as a dictator and the Russian regime will be recognized as a dictatorship.
"Despite the fact that the session has been going on for a little over an hour, we already have news for Ukraine. PACE deputies voted to include debates and resolutions on the Ukrainian topic in the agenda of the session under the urgent procedure, which is to ensure a fair peace in Ukraine and lasting security in Europe," she said.
The correspondent added that the resolution document on this topic will be prepared by the PACE Political Committee over the next few days and the resolution will be put to a vote on Thursday afternoon.
- On September 12, the PACE Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights expressed concern over the amendments to the Russian Constitution that ensure the indefinite presidency of Vladimir Putin.
