Would Putin invade if Ukraine had a different president?
I often hear the version that Putin would not have attacked under any other president. My answer is that he would have attacked under any other president
The attack on Ukraine is not about some well-thought-out plan or a dead end. It is about Putin's self-realization. I have read dozens of books about Putin and I can say that he has always been interested in a military attack.
He has achieved a lot not by military means. But as a KGB man, Putin is convinced that only force is respected. And so becoming a winner in a major war was a goal for him. As a fan of Nicholas I, he wanted to be the commander who saves Europe from bad revolutions. The war was inevitable and the only thing that could have prevented it was the West's systematic arming of Ukraine or NATO membership.
Putin has been building his armada for 10 years and invested $700 billion.
Believe me, he definitely did not do this to conclude some kind of Minsk 3. Moreover, if he hadn't chewed off Donbas, Boyko would have had a great chance of becoming president from an electoral point of view, and the Opposition Bloc's parliamentary faction could have been twice as large. But he was not interested in this.
No other president could have stopped this invasion. So do not go into this issue.
The only question that should interest each of us today is what can I do to win?
