Why Peace Summit, Minsk and Istanbul should not be compared

I read various comments and opinions about the Peace Summit, the Istanbul agreements, and a possible "truce" - all the discussions appeared almost simultaneously

Everyone started discussing and comparing the Minsk agreements with the Istanbul documents. I don't understand why there is so much hate, and what was the president's team supposed to do? Sign them? No, they didn't, and they did the right thing.

In my opinion, Minsk and Istanbul are different situations that should not be compared.

The Istanbul proposal was unacceptable and therefore suspended, and the Minsk agreements were not ratified by the parliament and not signed by the president, and could not be implemented at all.

We as a state of Ukraine and the Russian Federation are in a strategic impasse.

In such a situation, everyone wants to create favorable conditions on which to agree to freeze the conflict.

Because Ukraine does not have the tactical capabilities to liberate all of its territories, and Russia does not have the capabilities to seize Ukraine.

Therefore, it is normal that Zelenskyy creates a platform where he invites the world to discuss peace, and Putin, as an adversary, shouts: we will fight to the last yuan.

This war has no end and no beginning. It is existential. It is worldview. It can stop if the parties are exhausted, which will give a pause to prepare for the future continuation of the war.

Despite the fact that this war is destroying both economies and good prospects for the future.

However, Ukraine has the only positive aspect of this war - the formation of a political nation, if only this nation survives.

A strategic impasse.

It is important for us (Ukrainians - ed.) to find a moment of pause, grab it, and immediately start rebuilding our infrastructure and military-industrial complex, militarize ourselves as much as possible, create an absolute universal military service, and join the EU. We should move towards NATO while rebuilding, and before joining, create NATO inside Ukraine through reforms and joint programs.

As long as the sanctions imposed on Russia are in effect and the ruble is destroyed.

Ukraine's task is at least to preserve the country, and most importantly, it's human potential - the nation.
