Strike at Okhmatdyt hospital: Putin unites Ukrainians with his crime again
The Russian attack on the Okhmatdyt hospital on Monday morning was terrible. But the response of Ukrainians was wonderful
It was the forgotten unity that has recently been drowned in quarrels and fatigue, in the irritating hum of generators and summer heat, in the loss of hope and the sense of hopelessness imposed by the enemy.
Yes, Putin's henchmen tried to promote the surrender agenda against the backdrop of the tragedy, but only in the online world.
In the real world, real people again performed unrealistic miracles. Those people who came to Okhmatdyt... Those people who went to donate blood. Those who stood shoulder to shoulder, passing water and clearing the rubble in the fierce heat. From the girl who, despite her tears, was ready to clear the rubble with her bare hands, to Svitolina (Ukrainian tennis player - ed.), who, despite her grief, won in London, and then, without holding back her tears, reminded the whole world of the Russians' crimes.
It was a miracle that reminded us all how important we are to each other, what unites us with each other, and what we are fighting for. And what we are fighting against.
It was the reunification of society at a time when the state is unable to do anything.
And once again, we saw faces with eyes filled not only with grief but also with courage, self-sacrifice, and faith.
I don't know what Putin intended with this strike, but he has once again united Ukrainians with his crime.
But for how long? We'll see. But such days, such feelings of unity, do not pass without a trace. Leaving hope in the hearts of those who began to lose it. And giving faith to those who need it. And becoming a testimony of indestructibility for those who have lost both faith and hope.
