Farion's murder: Ukraine's unity is best revenge

I have never liked Iryna Farion. Nor did she like people who defend liberal values. But murder is not a Ukrainian method of resolving disputes. Even value ones. Even principled ones

Maidan 2004, Maidan 2013...

The beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022.

What is common? That Ukrainians of different political spectrums stood together. Liberals together with conservatives. Against the enemies of Ukraine. No matter what separates us (Ukrainians-ed.). Because there is something that keeps us together. And without this unity, the Orange Revolution, the Revolution of Dignity, and the heroism of the winter-spring of 2022 were impossible.

"Therefore, the only one who can stand behind or rejoice in the murder of Iryna Farion is the same enemy who has always been angry at the unity of Ukrainians at critical moments. This is Russia. This is the enemy who has been organizing political assassinations in Ukraine for decades."

What is the possible response to Russia's actions? Only unity. Of all spectrums. All those who loved Iryna Farion and who were angry with her. This is the only possible response to a common enemy. An enemy who organizes or provokes murder to divide us.

Ukraine's unity is the best revenge. Revenge on an enemy who is angry about this unity. And who is capable of killing to break this unity.

"Ukraine's unity is the only safeguard against future killings. Because if the enemy sees that such political assassinations divide Ukrainians, he will continue. And he will not care whether he kills liberals or conservatives."

Ukraine's unity and sharing the tragedy of a person's death is the best response to an enemy that does not value any life. This is what distinguishes us from the enemy. And this is what forms Ukraine's advantage. And we cannot lose it...
