NATO troops conduct military training near borders of Belarus and Russia
Some 2,000 NATO soldiers took part in the Tumak-22 training in northern Poland near the borders with Belarus and the Kaliningrad region of Russia
This is reported by the Polish Ministry of Defense.
The Polish military practised operational compatibility with American, British, Romanian and Croatian troops.
During the exercise, the soldiers crossed the reservoir, repelled the attacks of a simulated enemy, and also conducted a counter-offensive.
They also involved a thousand units of military equipment and material and technical support.
Deputy prime minister and head of the Polish Defense Ministry Mariusz Błaszczak stressed that the Polish military is ready to take responsibility for the security of the entire eastern flank of NATO.
"We are well aware that the tasks, in addition to those that we have seen, also relate to the maintenance of the borders with Belarus and Russia in the Kaliningrad region. We react before, not after. We are immune to all threats posed by Russian politics," Błaszczak added.
