More important than F-16s and ATACMS: Ukrainian fighter names decisive weapon for Ukraine war
Andriy Shyshuk, a serviceman with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, believes that UAVs can decide the outcome of the war
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"Nowadays, there is less need to deploy human personnel for tasks that were previously human-dependent, as drone warfare is continuously evolving. Drones are utilized in the air, at sea, and on the ground, with various categories including reconnaissance, bombing, and kamikaze drones. At times, they can outperform traditional artillery and aviation systems," Shyshuk said.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman, at this stage, drones can decide the outcome of the war.
"Drones are even more important than F-16s and ATACMS. The enemy has already begun to invest its funds and efforts in this area. It is important that we do not fall behind. We need drones, drones, and more drones. We need more drones. The enemy has powerful electronic warfare capabilities. The Russians are developing them, and we lack them. When storming enemy positions, the enemy tries to suppress communication channels with drones to blind our fighters. There should always be a lot of UAVs at the positions," Shyshuk emphasized.
- Russian leader Vladimir Putin has instructed Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to improve the situation at the front by early October, stop the Ukrainian counteroffensive and return the initiative to the Russian troops to launch an offensive.
- On Monday, September 25, Ukrainian defenders kept on conducting offensive operations at the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions. Meanwhile, the Russian army suffered losses - 5 tanks, 39 artillery systems and 400 soldiers.
