We are doing everything we can not to lose Pokrovsk — Ukraine’s top general
Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that over the past few days Russia has not advanced a single meter in the Pokrovsk sector
He shared the information in an interview with CNN.
In response to whether the Kursk operation has diverted Russian forces from the Pokrovsk direction and if Ukraine risks losing Pokrovsk, Syrsky stated that Russia has not gained any ground in the past six days, indicating the strategy is working. He emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the city of Pokrovsk is not lost.
“Of course, the enemy has concentrated the most trained of its units in the Pokrovsk sector. But we have deprived him of the ability to maneuver his units and the ability to redeploy his strengthening units from other areas,” said Syrskyi.
According to Syrskyi, this weakening is noticeable in other areas as well. He added that there has been a decrease in the number of artillery attacks and the intensity of offensive actions.
“In fact, the Pokrovsk direction remains the most problematic for us. In other areas, the situation has become more stable. So I think this strategy was chosen correctly and it will bring us the desired result,” the Commander-in-Chief summarized.
