Ukrainian Armed Forces extend basic training to 45 days
On November 1, the Ukrainian Armed Forces training centers switched to a new basic general military training program with a 1.5-month duration, up from the previous 30-day program
This change was announced by Major General Ihor Palahniuk, Commander of the Training Department at Ground Forces Command, as reported by Ukrinform.
The decision was based on the results of ongoing work at four key military training centers, where about 500 recruits took part in a pilot project. As a result, the new basic training program has been extended by 78 hours.
One of the main changes is a significant increase in firearms training, which has been expanded by 33 hours. In addition, the number of training exercises has grown from 23 to 45 variations.
The updated program also includes more comprehensive tactical training, with a focus on actions involving UAVs, electronic warfare, military topography, warfare technology, combat experience, and the use of collective weapons.
The extended training period is part of the "Saving Lives of Servicemen" program, aimed at improving the skills and preparedness of Ukrainian defenders.
