Ukraine strikes Russia's oil refineries, targeting 55% of its export revenues
The Centre of Special Operations “A” (Alpha), which is part of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), has hit part of Russia's oil refining facilities, which brought 55% of foreign exchange earnings to the country's budget
One of the heads of the SBU special forces (name withheld for security reasons) stated this at the first annual U.S.-Ukraine Freedom Summit, an Espreso correspondent reports from the U.S. capital.
"Over the past two months, many of Russia's oil refineries have been hit, which has resulted in a one-third reduction in exports of petroleum products, which is 55% of the Russia's military budget," he stated.
Additionally, in 2023, the Centre of Special Operations “A” destroyed over 500 Russian tanks.
"The Alpha Special Operations Center employs drones to eliminate Russian equipment and personnel. In 2023 alone, more than 500 Russian tanks, including T-90 and T-90M models costing over $5 million each, were neutralized," the officer revealed.
He also highlighted the achievements of a relatively small special unit: "These numbers are significant considering our limited personnel."
