Planet Labs satellite images show the aftermath of a Ukrainian strike on the Russian airfield in Lipetsk on the night of August 9: a number of buildings were completely destroyed

Satellite images from August 9 show completely destroyed airport facilities that the Russian forces could have used as warehouses. At the same time, a large-scale fire probably occurred on the territory.
Two craters on the ground are also visible, which could have been caused by missile or drone strikes.

On the night of August 9, the Ukrainian army attacked the Lipetsk military airfield and also destroyed the Russian air defense facilities in the Donetsk region.

At the same time, media reported, citing sources, that at the time of the attack, several dozen fighters and helicopters were stationed at the airfield, as well as warehouses with more than 700 guided bombs.

Oleh Katkov, a military expert and editor-in-chief of Defense Express, said that Russian pilots were mastering SU-57 fighters at the Lipetsk airfield.
