“Out of operation for a while”: aviation expert on Russia’s Millerovo airfield attack
Ihor Romanenko, who founded the Safe Skies Over Ukraine Charitable Foundation and is former Deputy Chief of the Ukrainian General Staff (2006-2010), said that a Ukrainian attack has ensured that the Millerovo military airfield in Russia’s Rostov region will definitely not be fully functional for a while
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"Due to the attack on the Millerovo airfield in the Rostov region, the airfield will not function for some time. There is no information yet on whether Russian military aircraft were damaged there. However, there is no doubt that the airfield infrastructure has been damaged. In particular, tanks and everything related to fuel and lubricants. This means that this airfield will definitely not work for a while," Romanenko said.
According to the expert, the destruction of the infrastructure of the Millerovo military airfield will reduce the number of combat sorties by Russian aircraft.
"This airfield will definitely not function properly temporarily. Let me remind you that the Millerovo airfield is located more than 150 kilometers from the front line. Therefore, this attack will definitely help our defenders operating on the front line. It is likely to reduce the number of air attacks on our positions," he added.
