Medvedev threatens nuclear war in case of Russia's defeat , Peskov confirms that this is in line with Russian doctrine
New tactics and weapons for Ukraine's victory in the war with Russia are being prepared at a meeting in Ramstein, causing a stir in the Kremlin, which is threatening nuclear war in case of defeat
This was first stated by former President and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
"Tomorrow, at the NATO Ramstein base, major military leaders will discuss new tactics and strategy, as well as the supply of new heavy weapons and strike systems to Ukraine. And this is right after the Davos forum, where immature political partygoers repeated the mantra: "To achieve peace, Russia must lose," he began.
And then he expressed fears that this could lead to Russia's defeat and immediately threatened the last Russian argument:
"The loss of a nuclear power in a conventional war can provoke the outbreak of a nuclear war. Nuclear powers have not lost major conflicts on which their fate depends."
Later, Dmitry Peskov confirmed the official nature of Russia's threats. First, he formulated the Kremlin's position on the change in Western strategy, which could be formalized at a new meeting in the Ramstein format, and the possible supply of weapons that could strike the territory of Crimea.
"The discussion about supplying Ukraine with weapons that can hit Russian territory is potentially extremely dangerous and could bring the conflict to a 'qualitatively new level,'" Putin's spokesman said.
In his commentary on Medvedev's statement, he fully agreed with his logic and added that it was in line with Russia's military doctrine:
"Dmitry Medvedev's statements about the risk of nuclear war in case of a nuclear power's loss in a conventional war do not mean a change in nuclear doctrine. This is in full compliance with our nuclear doctrine. There are no contradictions there."

The day before, Western media wrote that the Biden administration, after months of discussions with Ukrainian officials, began to consider what means could be transferred to Ukraine for the possible destruction of military facilities in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

And the main expected decision of the meeting in the Ramstein format, which will take place tomorrow, January 20, is the provision of offensive equipment, including tanks.
