Lukashenko meets DPR's Pushilin, defends cooperation as legal
On Thursday, September 19, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, met with Denis Pushilin, the leader of the so-called "DPR," and claimed that cooperation with the Russian-occupied region "does not violate international norms"
This was reported by Lukashenko's press service.
“I reaffirm that we will cooperate with you without violating any international norms and norms of our relations,” Lukashenko said at a meeting with Pushilin.
He expressed his readiness to assist the so-called "DPR" in areas such as construction, healthcare, and education, and also noted his willingness to cooperate with Ukraine on "the same principles."
The self-proclaimed President of Belarus stated, “We have received various hints and signals, even from the West, suggesting that our cooperation might offend Ukraine. We are not offending anyone. We are ready to cooperate with Ukraine on the same basis as with the 'Donetsk Republic.'”
Note: The Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) is a self-declared, unrecognized separatist entity in eastern Ukraine, formed in 2014 during the Donbas conflict, and backed by Russia.
