He said this on Espreso TV.
“On January 24, massive searches and arrests took place in the Crimean Tatars' houses in the Dzhankoi district. This district is already becoming a Russian military hub, where weapons and personnel of the Russian army are being accumulated, and then they are being sent to the occupied districts of Kherson region. The Russian FSB has accused six people of being terrorists, fulfilling the tasks of the Ukrainian special services and committing sabotage in Crimea,” said the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
Refat Chubarov noted that these people face extremely long prison terms, from 14 to 19 years.
“On January 27, the local occupation court of Simferopol made a decision on the preventive measures for the arrested people. Crimean Tatars came to the court to demonstrate unity and give moral support to the people who were arrested. And yesterday 34 of our citizens were arrested, and today they were given administrative punishments in the form of imprisonment from 10 to 15 days,” Chubarov said.
