Lukashenko convenes Belarus Security Council meeting in the morning - Oppositionist Latushko
Pavel Latushko, Deputy Chairman of the Joint Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, Head of the People's Anti-Crisis Department, said that the Security Council of Belarus plans to adopt a law on the people's militia.
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"After his visit to Moscow, Lukashenko disappeared from the screens. But this morning he convened a meeting of the Security Council. The main topic that is being discussed in Minsk is the situation around Belarus, and this is related to the war and the topic of the people's militia. The adoption of a law that says that using the experience of the war in Ukraine, we need to be prepared for the fact that every resident of Belarus must be able to use weapons to defend their land," Latushko emphasized.
The oppositionist also added that Putin is forcing Lukashenko to become more involved in the war, while Lukashenko is trying to bargain his participation and support for Russia to a lesser extent.
"The lack of communication after Lukashenko's meeting with Putin suggests that Putin does not want to give Lukashenko even more money, and Lukashenko wants more money. They had a major dispute over this - how much Putin would pay for what Lukashenko would do," Latushko explained.
- Zelenskyy said that an offensive by Belarusian troops would make them terrorists - it would be a big historical mistake. He noted that today there is no high probability and high risk of an attack from Belarus, and 80% of the country's residents do not want to fight against Ukraine.
- Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Lukashenko is trying to prevent Putin from sending the Belarusian army to Ukraine, as this would mean the end of the self-proclaimed president's regime.
