Latvia is among three leaders in providing military assistance to Ukraine - PM Shmyhal
During a meeting with President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Latvia is among the three largest donors of military aid to Ukraine by percentage of national GDP
Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote about this on Facebook.
"We are extremely grateful for the assistance provided by our Latvian friends to our country. Latvia is one of the three largest donors of military aid to Ukraine by percentage of national GDP," Shmyhal said.
In particular, the parties discussed the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula and support for Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
Shmyhal stressed that Latvia's experience in this regard is important for Ukraine.
"I thanked for the assistance in the reconstruction, particularly in Chernihiv region. I stressed that frozen Russian assets should become the main resource for rebuilding Ukraine. To this end, we continue to work together on an international compensation mechanism," the Prime Minister concluded.
