Ukraine’s Ground Forces comment on threat of Russian offensive from north
Volodymyr Fitio, a spokesman for Ukraine's Ground Forces Command, said that there are no signs that Russia is preparing to attack Kharkiv
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"The number of Russian troops on the northern border is being monitored. Now the war is going on in the so-called "online mode". It is almost impossible for both sides to create hidden movements of forces and means," he noted.
In addition, the northern border is being fortified, noted the spokesman for the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"We have the forces and means, we are reinforcing the border. Therefore, there is currently no threat to Kharkiv residents from the north," he added.
At the end of 2023, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev announced Russia's intention to capture Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv.
Denys Popovych, a military observer, noted that the enemy grouping of troops from Belgorod has about 12,000 personnel, less than 100 tanks, and more than 300 different artillery systems, which is not enough to storm the city of Kharkiv, a city of one million people.
