Iranian television reported that the Ababil-5 drone flew 400 km and successfully hit the target. The test of new UAVs took place in the coastal zone of the Gulf of Oman and near the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Ababil-5 was used for the first time during military exercises. It also involved special forces, paratroopers, fighters, helicopters, military transport aircraft and submarines.
The Iranian military will also conduct missile firing and air defense systems.
State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the United States was in talks with Israel on ways to stop the leakage of weapons from Iran, including the supply of ‘kamikaze’ drones to Russia.
