Invading forces torture people refusing to receive Russian passports in Kherson region
Invading forces are torturing locals who refuse to receive a Russian passport in the temporarily occupied Kherson region
The National Resistance Center reported that the Russian troops threaten to physically harm those Ukrainians who refuse to receive a Russian passport.
“The local population of the temporarily occupied territories continues to resist forced passportization. The pace of issuing Russian passports is too slow and the occupation administrations receive systematic reprimands from the Kremlin's curators. As a result, in the settlements in the temporarily occupied districts of the Kherson region, Russians are intimidating the civilian population. They threaten people with a 'pit' for refusing to receive Russian passports. The occupiers have repeatedly carried out demonstrative punishments, putting men in bags and throwing them into the trenches,” the statement says.
In particular, the occupying Russian forces use the torture chamber in Henichesk to torture citizens with a pro-Ukrainian position and those who refuse to follow the orders of the so-called authorities.
“In this way, terrorists are forcing people to get a passport to avoid reprisals. Despite this, the residents continue to resist and refuse the Russian piece of paper,” the National Resistance Center added.
