In the military summaries of the day, the Air Force of Ukraine for the first time showed interesting details of the use of the MiG-29 with American missiles, and we will also talk about the fighting in the South through the eyes of the Americans and our experts as much as possible.

AGM-88 HARM anti-radiation missiles operate with the MiG-29

The command of the Air Force of Ukraine today for the first time showed a video of the launch of American AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles from a MiG-29 fighter.  The post to this video states that it is dedicated to the Ukrainian pilot Yevhen Lysenko, who heroically died in air combat with the Russian invaders on March 9.

As for the technical side of this video, it demonstrates a unique symbiosis of modern technologies and creative solutions.  Because these American HARM missiles are transferred to us in packages of American military aid, and Ukraine became the first country where Soviet-made aircraft acquired new capabilities at the expense of American technologies.

HARM missiles were created for Western-made aircraft to destroy Soviet anti-aircraft missile systems and radars (radiolocation station - ed.) that emit electronic signals.  In the case of the Ukrainian MiG-29 fighters, a transition pylon, a device between the wing and the missile, was used to mount the HARM missiles, which contains all the necessary equipment to prepare the missile before launch for launching at enemy targets.  It seems that everything is simple, but in fact it required a number of difficult decisions, which were implemented in an extremely short time.  It was about several weeks of such exhausting, but effective work, and today we have a new model of weapons.

Currently, MiG-29s are used to strike predetermined targets on the battlefield.  The pilot must rise to fire to a certain height and launch, and then HARM, which has a flight range of 150 km, independently searches for the necessary working radar and destroys it on the battlefield.  If the enemy's radar suddenly stopped working, then there is no problem, because the missile destroys the enemy object according to the coordinates that are determined in advance before launch.

HARMs now have as much impact on the enemy as HIMARS.  Because a significant number of enemy air defense systems (anti-aircraft missile systems - ed.) have been destroyed and this clears the sky for the work of our aviation over enemy positions.

I will add one more detail, that in the near future there will be more MiG-29 fighters in the Air Force of Ukraine.  Slovakia will fulfill its promise to hand over its MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, which a couple of days ago held a farewell ceremony for its ex-Soviet planes.  The country has nine such aircraft and two training aircraft, i.e. 11 aircraft that will be able to strengthen the potential of our air force.  And these planes will be the youngest and newest fighters in the Air Force of Ukraine, and the main thing is that the number of combat-capable planes will be increased, for which we should thank Slovakia, which previously handed us the S-300 complex, which destroys air targets and enemy planes.

Situation in south

And now let's get down to earth and immediately to the South, which is currently the main focus, but official spokesmen call for maintaining a regime of silence.

By the way, today in the evening summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there is not a single word about combat operations in the Kherson direction.  However, our aircraft, artillery and long-range vehicles hit the targets loudly and the consequences are visible even from space.  Now the Armed Forces continue offensive actions in the Kherson area, burning the positions of the Russian Federation with massive fire.

OC South reported in the morning that 13 enemy control points were hit in the Kherson, Berislav and Kakhovsky districts, that is, on the entire Rashist bridgehead on the Right Bank.  Ammunition warehouses located in the depths of enemy positions were also destroyed.  Blows were also inflicted on transport arteries, namely the bridges over the Dnipro, which connect the right and left banks in the area of Kherson and Novaya Kakhovka.

Today after 4:00 p.m., a video of new hits on the Antonivskyi automobile bridge appeared.  Under the bridge, the enemy tried to build an additional crossing with barges, 600 meters had already been built, which is two-thirds of the total distance.  I hope the new strikes destroyed this Russian structure.

The enemy also overthrew a pipeline through the Antoniv railway bridge, from which fuel is delivered by gas stations and pumped by pumping stations for Russian military equipment, which is suffering from a lack of fuel on the Right Bank. I think that our fire control will be extended to this Russian know-how.

On the infographic - the ability to evaluate the strikes carried out by Ukrainian artillery and aviation on enemy positions with a combination of two resources - this is a Deep State resource, which in combination with a NASA resource called Firevs, which is used to analyze forest fires, and is also used to analyze  strikes on enemy positions.  During the day, strikes were carried out almost throughout the depth of the enemy.  The yellow dots indicate the strikes that were carried out yesterday against enemy positions.

At night, a briefing was held at the Pentagon, where one of the official spokesmen answered questions about the activity of the Armed Forces near Kherson.  He said there has been an increase in kinetic activity in and around the city.  He also added that the ratio between Ukrainian and Russian troops is much better in terms of parity in the South compared to the Eastern part of the front, but the attack requires more forces than the defense.  The representative of the Pentagon did not want to add more details, but said that in the next 24-36 hours there will be more clarity.  So, we are waiting.

Situation at fronts

Siversk — Soledar — Bakhmut remains a line for depleting Russian resources.  The Russians are trying to carry out limited assaults, but so far they have not had the success they are hoping for.

Also, the area around Donetsk remains hot - these are the offensives in the area of Maryanka, Avdiyivka, Pisok.  The enemy is using their time-honored practice of a barrage of fire, pinning down our line of defense.

The situation in the South forces the enemy to change his tactics from the point of view of the transfer of forces, and the presence of our reserves will provide us with a stable situation in all areas of the front, even where the enemy tries to use the tactics of a barrage of fire and superiority in artillery and ammunition, which is preserved in certain areas.
