Greece plans to provide Ukraine with 20 BMP-1 and ammunition – Greek Ministry of Defense
Greece agreed on an aid package to Ukraine including 20 BMP-1 IFVs and ammunition
Greek Defense Minister Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos stated this at the Ramstein meeting, the Greek Ministry of Defense reports.
"Mr. Panagiotopoulos mentioned the humanitarian and defense aid that Greece sends to Ukraine, including ammunition and 20 BMP-1 IFVs, and emphasized that Greece will continue to support the righteous struggle of the Ukrainian people for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of their country," the statement said.
During the speech, Panagiotopoulos emphasized that Russia's invasion of Ukraine is a gross violation of international law, which undermines peace, security and stability in Europe, and mentioned the large-scale suffering of people as a result of the war.

Earlier, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that his country will not supply Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, explaining that they are "of vital importance for Greece's own defense strategy."
