Frozen war is ideal for Putin - Oleksiy Hetman

He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel.

"Now we have begun to observe how Russia is trying to wage an information war against Ukraine so that we will go to negotiations with them. A number of foreign media outlets have begun to write that this war must end and that we need to sit down at the negotiating table with Russia. This indicates that the Kremlin has realized that they cannot achieve victory on the battlefield," explained Hetman.

The expert emphasized that Putin has not abandoned his plans to seize the whole of Ukraine.

"Russian authorities say that everything is going according to plan. However, the Russian forces have probably forgotten what their goals were at the beginning of the invasion and what they have achieved now. They are already saying that they need to defend their country. Putin is looking for a way out of this war and is trying to push Ukraine to negotiate to freeze the fighting. This situation will be the best for him. It will give him time to prepare for a new war against Ukraine," he added.
