This is reported by the official Twitter of the IAEA.

"Ukraine has reported to the IAEA that firefighters were attempting to put out forest fires near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. A slight increase in cesium concentrations in the air was found in Kyiv and at two nuclear power plants, which is not a significant cause for concern. The IAEA continues to work with the nuclear regulatory authority of Ukraine for additional information about the fire situation at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant", the statement said.

The Verkhovna Rada also reports that fires continue to be recorded within the Exclusion Zone. It claims a deterioration in a number of indicators at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant due to the actions of the Russian invaders.

"The information received from the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant on the safety parameters and the state of the radiation situation at the site indicates a trend towards a steady deterioration in a number of indicators. The invader continues to grossly violate the requirements of radiation safety and sanitary access control at the enterprise and in the Exclusion Zone, which leads to  deterioration of the radiation situation at the enterprise and the Exclusion Zone, and also contributes to the spread of radioactive contamination outside the Exclusion Zone", the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reported.

Within the exclusion zone, fire cells continue to be recorded according to the Sentinel-2 satellite images of the European Space Agency.
