Arsonists have no place at firemen's meetings: Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Freeland calls to expel Russia from the IMF and G20
Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Khrystia Freeland said that Russia should be excluded from the G20 and the International Monetary Fund
This is reported by Bloomberg.
According to her, Russia has no place in such organizations as the IMF and the G20, just as Arsonists have no place in a meeting of firefighters.
"The IMF and World Bank meetings are meetings of the firefighters -- of ministers and central bank governors, whose jobs is to protect the global economy,” Freeland, who is of Ukrainian heritage and is also Canada’s deputy prime minister, told reporters Friday in Washington. “Russia right now is the arsonist. Russia shouldn’t have been at the IMF meetings. Arsonists have no place in meetings of the firefighters," she noted.
At the same time, she admitted that Canada cannot influence Russia's membership in organizations, but can only publicly accuse Vladimir Putin's regime of the decision to start a war with its neighbor.
"Canada will continue to hold Russia to account and we will continue to call out its absolutely reprehensible war crimes in Ukraine," - Freeland promised.
