Few more days needed to restore Ukrainian power system
It will take several days to restore electricity production to the level before the missile attack on December 5. Until then, emergency shutdowns will occur across Ukraine
This is reported by Ukrenergo, state power company of Ukraine.
The company reminded Odesa and Kyiv regions were among the most affected by the Russian missile attack on December 5.
"Due to the damage some power plants and part of the power grids in the country's power system suffered, the level of electricity production has decreased, and in order to maintain the balance in the system in all regions of Ukraine, emergency shutdowns are temporarily applied," explained Ukrenergo and emphasized that repair crews are doing everything possible to restore power supply to the Ukrainian homes as soon as possible.
According to Ukrenergo, energy supply to critical infrastructure facilities, namely hospitals, boiler houses, and water utility companies, has already been restored in most settlements of the Odesa region.
"It will take a few more days to restore the amount of electricity production to the level before the missile attack on December 5. Currently, electricity consumption limitations have been applied in all of Ukraine's regions. Unfortunately, there are already regions where the consumption limits have been exceeded, so emergency shutdowns have been applied," the company noted.
