Czech Republic cancels concert by pro-Putin opera singer Netrebko
The scheduled concert of Russian opera singer Anna Netrebko, planned for October in Prague, has been canceled. This decision stems from her public endorsement of Russian leader Putin and her inclusion on Ukraine's sanctions list
This was reported by Radio Prague International, citing a statement by representatives of the Prague Municipal House and the Nachtigall Artists Management agency, which organizes the concert.
Representatives of the Prague coalition opposed the artist's performance.
A representative of the organizing agency said that the opera singer's management had also been approached by Czech groups known for organizing demonstrations, so both sides agreed to cancel the event, which was to take place on October 16.
The outlet points out that Netrebko has been living in Austria for a long time, but in the past she helped Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the presidential election and was photographed with representatives of Kremlin-backed separatists in Ukraine and their flag.

Earlier, the Metropolitan Opera replaced Russian Netrebko with Ukrainian Monastyrska in the opera Turandot. The reason for this decision was soprano Anna Netrebko not complying with the Met’s condition that she repudiate her public support for Vladimir Putin
