Bulgaria has declared 10 Russian diplomats persona non grata
The Ministry of International Affairs in Bulgaria is expelling ten Russian diplomats at once. They have 72 hours to leave the country.
The news agency BGNES reported this, “Espreso.Zaxid” informs.
“At the suggestion of the competent authorities of the Republic of Bulgaria, in agreement with the Prime Minister Kirill Petkov, Bulgaria today declared non-grata 10 Russian diplomats accredited in our country, giving them a 72-hour deadline to leave the country,” the statement said.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vasily Georgiev has already handed over to the ambassador of the Russian Federation Eleanor Mitrofanova the relevant note verbale.
According to the competent authorities, these employees of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria carried out activities in the country that are incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
