British intelligence reveals real purpose of civilian evacuation from Kherson announced by Russia
Russian occupying forces could have announced evacuation of Kherson in order to transfer military personnel from the city under the guise of civilians
The British Ministry of Defense reports on Twitter.
British intelligence draws attention to the fact that on November 11, the ministry of defense of Russia announced the completion of troops withdrawal from Kherson. As part of this process, Russian troops destroyed road and railway bridges across Dnipro river.
It is quite likely that the withdrawal process began on October 22, when representatives of the occupation administration in Kherson called on civilians to leave the city. At the same time, there is a real possibility that Russian military equipment and troops have been evacuated along with claimed 80,000 civilians in recent weeks.
British intelligence emphasizes that Kherson was the only regional center captured by Russia since February, so leaving the city causes significant reputational damage. It is public acknowledgment of the difficulties faced by Russian troops on the right bank of Dnipro River.
"Ukraine has retaken large areas of Kherson region on the west bank of Dnipro River and now its forces are largely in control of Kherson. It is quite likely that Russia is still attempting to evacuate forces from other areas of the region across the river to defensive positions on the east bank", British intelligence suggested.
