Bodies of 1116 dead civilians found in de-occupied territories of four regions in Ukraine
Since the beginning of de-occupation measures, 1116 bodies of killed civilians have been found in Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Kherson and Kharkiv regions
This was announced at a briefing by the head of the Department of Organisational and Analytical Support and Operational Response of the National Police, police general of the third rank Oleksiy Sergeiev.
"Since the beginning of de-occupation measures in Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions, the bodies of 1116 civilians have been found, including 31 children. Yesterday (December 28, - ed.) the bodies of three people were found in the Kherson region," Sergeiev said.
According to him, investigators documented 5398 war crimes in the de-occupied areas. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the police have opened more than 53,700 criminal proceedings on the facts of committing criminal offences by the Russian military and their accomplices.
Most proceedings - 42,000 - were initiated under Article 438 of the Criminal Code (violation of the laws and customs of war). More than 9,000 cases have been opened under Article 110 of the Criminal Code (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine).
Last week another mass grave of killed civilians was discovered in Kherson region: the remains of six people were found in the yard of a house, they were tortured before being killed.
