Biden says “Putin already lost Ukraine,” US aid to Kyiv is open-ended
US President Joe Biden states that Russian leader Vladimir Putin "has already lost Ukraine," and that assistance to Ukraine during the confrontation with Russia is open-ended
The Hill reported the statement.
"He (Putin - ed.) thought that if he invaded Ukraine, first of all, he’d get a welcome by every Russian speaker, they’d say, ‘Come on in.’ Secondly, he thought what would happen is that NATO would collapse, NATO would not to do anything, they’d be afraid to act," Biden said.
"Go down the line, none of that’s happening," he added.
Biden also responded to criticism from a small group of Republican lawmakers who suggested that the US was giving Ukraine too much money.
"If these guys don’t want to help Ukraine, I get it, they don’t want to do that, but what are they going to do to when … Russia rolls across Ukraine or into Belarus or anywhere else?" the American leader responded.
When asked whether the assistance to Ukraine is open-ended, Biden answered, “Yeah, it is.”
