Biden needs to end war with Ukraine's victory before US presidential election – politician Rashkin

Yuriy Rashkin, a US politician and public figure, said that Biden should end this war because no one else will do it, as he stands for Ukraine

He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.

"It's important for Biden to end the war with Ukraine's victory before the US presidential election, because he can't leave this task to anyone else. Biden has to end the war because, as he stands for Ukraine, no one else will. But this will not affect Biden's popularity in the elections. Biden’s plans to end this war as soon as possible will depend on the vote in Congress on aid to Ukraine," the politician said.

Yuriy Rashkin noted that if this is easy to do, and Biden knows that both Republicans and Democrats will give him enough money, and perhaps even more, then it is possible to fight longer, in some sense.

"But on the other hand, we already have doubts that the Republican Party is going to support further funding for Ukraine, because we are already hearing: "We will not give a blank check, not a single cent to Ukraine anymore." These are real people who are leaders of the Republican Party, but this is not the opinion of all Republicans. Therefore, I would not like to rely on their good mood. Accordingly, ending the war with a Ukrainian victory before the next vote would be the best option. But to what extent this is possible depends on Putin's personal mood, when he will be ready to surrender or end his life so that his successor can sign the surrender. If that doesn't happen by the fall, then the next big stage where the US can pivot is in the presidential election. That's why it's important for Biden to continue his policy," Rashkin summarized.

  • On April 25, Joe Biden announced that he would run for the second term in the US presidential election in 2024.
