Angelina Jolie visits children in Lviv hospital, talks to volunteers and people forced to leave their home
Hollywood actress and UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie has visited children who were injured by a Russian missile strike on Kramatorsk train station and school
Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytskyi shared details of the event on Facebook.
"In one of the medical institutions she visited children who were hit by a missile strike by Russian forces at Kramatorsk railway station. She was very touched by their stories. One girl even had the chance to share her dream with Ms Jolie privately. The ambassador also visited a boarding school. She promised that she will visit again", the regional head wrote.
Jolie also talked to volunteers who provide medical and psychological assistance at the Main Railway Station in Lviv and thanked them for their work.
"She said that she, as a mother, is well aware of the complexity of challenges they face, especially when it comes to helping children," said Maxim Kozytsky.
She also had the chance to interact with people who left the warzone.
"This visit came as a surprise to all of us. Many people who saw Ms. Jolie in Lviv region could not believe that it was really her. But on February 24, Ukraine showed the world that we have a lot of incredible things. It means a huge amount to know that we have support from people of this level. Our victory is certain," the regional official added.
