All cases regarding deportation of Ukrainian children will be referred to ICC
All cases of Ukrainian children being deported by the Russians, even if the transfer is voluntary, will be referred to the International Criminal Court in The Hague
Mykola Kuleba, the former representative of the President of Ukraine on children's rights and executive director of Save Ukraine, stated this on Espreso.
"I am very often asked by journalists: 'If the mother agreed to send her child to this camp.' This is still a deportation, because the Russians took these children under the conditions of occupation. They had no right to do this according to humanitarian law, the Rome Statute. They simply captured these children, taking advantage of the helplessness of these families, and then did not return them. Subsequently, they moved this ethnic group of Ukrainians to another ethnic group of Russians, which is genocide. They refused to return them and started to brainwash them," he said.
Kuleba emphasized the importance of documenting such crimes by working closely with the SBU when returning children to their families. He also revealed that Save Ukraine is collaborating with the International Criminal Court, and all cases regarding the deportation of Ukrainian children will be forwarded to The Hague for further action.
