Musk says Putin cannot lose war and opposes Ukraine aid
American billionaire Elon Musk said that Russian President Vladimir Putin cannot lose in the Russian-Ukrainian war. He also opposed the adoption of a bill to help Ukraine
Bloomberg writes about this, citing Musk's words during the X Spaces forum, which was also attended by opponents of the bill to help Ukraine.
According to Musk, "there is no chance" that Russian President Vladimir Putin could lose the war in Ukraine. Thus, he agreed with the comment of one of the speakers who said that those who expect a Ukrainian victory "live in a fantasy world."
In addition, Musk expressed hope that Americans would contact their congressmen to help Ukraine.
"This spending does not help Ukraine. Prolonging the war does not help Ukraine," the American billionaire said.
Musk also said that he is sometimes accused of protecting Putin, but called the accusation "absurd." He said his companies "have probably done more to undermine Russia than anything."
However, according to Musk, the Russian president is under pressure to finish the war because "if he were to back off, he would be assassinated."
The American billionaire stated that he is interested in "stopping the deaths of people on both sides of the war," but does not think this can be done by removing Putin.
"For those who want regime change in Russia, they should think about who is the person that could take out Putin, and is that person likely to be a peacenik? Probably not," Musk said, adding that such a person would likely be "even more hardcore than Putin."
