35% of Ukrainian energy system’s key facilities damaged by Russian attacks
In Ukraine, 35% of key objects of transmission networks were damaged, 70% of them were targeted two or more times
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.
"Yesterday (December 5, - ed.) air defense forces shot down more than 60 Russian missiles. This is an incredible result, thanks to which many lives were saved, and the energy system of Ukraine remained intact and controlled by Ukrenergo dispatchers," the head of the government said.
According to him, power engineers promise to fix the system as soon as possible, but the prognosed electricity deficit is 19%.
"In recent months, 35% of the key objects of the transmission networks were damaged by massive Russian attacks. 70% of them were targeted two or more times. For example, yesterday, the enemy launched 7 missiles at one of the substations in the Odesa region. Therefore, power outages continue to be present in the country," Shmyhal emphasized.
