I think the authorities should stop talking about our president's conversation with Chinese leader Xi.

By calling Putin a friend, President Xi has publicly made a political choice.

What is the point of our side's persistence?

For years we have not made a decision to appoint an ambassador to China. Now we are sharing with the whole world that we really want a conversation between the heads of state.

In my opinion, this line of behavior will not be useful. Putin's friends from different parts of the world have started a marathon of peace initiatives. There is no need to invite them for the Olympics in our home. Especially since they believe that peace will be brought by the beauty of their marathon, not by the arrest of their crazy friend who decided to shoot at the stadium.
