The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summons a representative of the Russian Embassy over the execution of 16 Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian soldiers

The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry reported the information.
The ministry noted that Lithuania expresses its strong protest over another war crime committed by Russian troops in Ukraine.
“Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry summons a representative of the Russian embassy, voices a strong protest over execution of 16 Ukrainian prisoners of war,” the statement said.
The Foreign Ministry added that such actions by the Russians “is another cynical violation of the Geneva Convention by Russian forces.”
“Russia will not escape accountability,” the agency emphasized.
- Russian forces executed 16 Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Pokrovsk direction near Mykolaivka and Sukhyi Yar. Ukrainian authorities have initiated an investigation into war crimes, including premeditated murder.
