Lithuanian customs find military goods on Kaliningrad-Moscow passenger trains
From September 27 to October 2, Lithuanian customs officers found four consignments of diverse military equipment on passenger trains traveling from Kaliningrad to Moscow
Delfi reported the information.
Employees of the Kaunas Territorial Customs and the Criminal Customs Service discovered a mail parcel containing what are believed to be military items—specifically, camouflage pants—during an inspection of the mail car on the Kaliningrad-Moscow passenger train at the Kybartai railway station.
It is suspected that these items were intended for the Russian armed forces in their war against Ukraine. A total of five units of camouflage pants were seized in accordance with EU Council regulations.
Additionally, on October 1, customs officials intercepted a shipment of five camouflage nets in Kybartai on a train traveling from Kaliningrad.
Two more shipments of camouflage nets, intended for the Russian military, were seized by customs officers on the same trains between September 27 and 29.
According to customs officials, such shipments, which are meant for Russian forces in the war against Ukraine, are typically sent by members of various NGOs in Kaliningrad.
The confiscated goods will be transferred by Lithuanian customs as aid to Ukraine.
