According to him, he has been following the developments in the Kursk region, in particular, near the nuclear power plant. Grossi emphasized that the safety of nuclear facilities should not be jeopardized under any circumstances.
“It is vital when I arrive at the plant tomorrow that I see first-hand the situation and discuss modalities for further activities as may be needed to evaluate the nuclear safety and security conditions of the KNPP,” he added.
- Earlier, Grossi said in an interview with Bloomberg that he plans to visit the Kursk NPP in the coming days and then meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv. The environmental organization Greenpeace in Ukraine condemned the plans of the IAEA head.
