Most importantly, Guterres’s visit has turned the UN into a house of cards, as its secretary-general meets with a war criminal recognized as such by the International Criminal Court. In fact, from now on, the global security system created after the two world wars has been destroyed.
Guterres is now playing right into Putin's strategy of revising the world order, for which he unleashed a war against Ukraine in 2014 - one that has proven to be too much for the UN to handle. The house of cards is beginning to fall apart, as it is unable to solve any serious problems but is ready to accept the game of power.
