Three Ukrainian films among longlist contenders for Oscars 2025
The American Film Academy has announced the longlist of contenders for the Oscars 2025. The official list of 169 films includes three Ukrainian films

The Ukrainian State Film Agency press service reports.
Thus, the list includes the following Ukrainian films:
- La Palisade (directed by Philip Sotnychenko). The film is presented in the International Feature Film category - Ukraine, 1996. 5 months before the moratorium on the death penalty, two old friends, a police detective and a forensic psychiatrist, investigate the murder of their colleague.
- The Porcelain War (directed by Brendan Bellomo and Slava Leontiev) is the story of three Ukrainian artists of porcelain animal art who work amid war.
- Intercepted (directed by Oksana Karpovych) is a documentary based on radio intercepts of conversations between Russian soldiers and families, illustrating their everyday attitude to cruelty.
The award ceremony will take place on the night of March 3, 2025 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Emmy Award-winning TV presenter, screenwriter, producer, and comedian Conan O'Brien will be the sole host of the 97th Academy Awards.
- At a meeting on September 9, the Ukrainian Oscar Committee chose La Palisade as a contender for the Oscar in the Best International Feature Film category.
