Who benefits from rumors about terminally ill Kadyrov

Kadyrov’s son met with Putin on the eve of his wedding. This story has been overgrown with a lot of rumors, the main one being that Ramzan Kadyrov is terminally ill

So, what does it all really mean:

1. Kadyrov is not going to die tomorrow, as many believe. But for some reason, which is still unclear to us (deterioration of his physical condition may also be a possibility), Kadyrov decided to officially introduce his son to politics. And by meeting with his son, Putin, first of all, blessed him for "this path.”

“Anyone who thinks that Kadyrov Jr. will become the leader of Chechnya tomorrow is mistaken. So far, this is only the potential beginning of the process of coming to power, which will take some time. As of now it is, first of all, a demonstration of the successor (crown prince) and observation of the elites, of their reaction”

So far, this is only the potential beginning of the process of coming to power, which will take some time. As of now it is, first of all, a demonstration of the successor (crown prince) and observation of the elites, of their reaction.

3. Putin's meeting was clearly being prepared for a certain period of time. The first touchstone was "thrown" by Kadyrov a month and a half ago, when he made a statement that he was already an "old governor" and that he had to give way to younger ones. The second such "call" was made before the New Year, when Kadyrov showed how he was doing push-ups: in this way he aimed at demonstrating not necessarily his good physical shape, but rather that he was definitely not dying. And finally, we should not forget that Kadyrov publicized the story of his sons' "going to war” for a reason.

4. It should not be forgotten that Putin has recently alienated Kadyrov against the backdrop of the latter's active media campaign criticizing Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov. However, unlike Prigozhin, Kadyrov took the hint and basically "shut up" and stopped criticizing the army leadership.

5. A separate plot in this story is the poisonous letter that affected one of the Chechen military leaders, Apti Alaudinov. Kadyrov's relationship with Alaudinov has some problems, but it is unlikely that the Chechen leader would send such a letter. The most likely version is that the author of the letter is the FSB, which could hardly have done so without Putin's approval. It was a warning to Kadyrov and all Chechen elites that their place was in Chechnya. From that moment on, by the way, Chechens actually stopped appearing in criminal chronicles and scandals. Apparently, an order was given for everyone to lay low.

“The most likely version of the reason for the Putin-Kadyrov Jr. meeting is to demonstrate that Putin has at least partially forgiven Kadyrov for his previous antics. However, for now, he is keeping him at a distance”

7. The situation in Moscow-Grozny relations is such that Kadyrov depends on Putin no less than Putin depends on Kadyrov. That is why, despite recent disagreements and even the Chechen leader's alleged (though unconfirmed) illness, Putin demonstrates that he does not see any new leader in Chechnya who is not from the Kadyrov clan.
